Coastal properties get dirty in a way inland ones do not. Salt film, mould and organic growth build up on the weather side, and the southerly weather through the Illawarra keeps it topped up.
Hard surfaces
Driveways, paths, patios and pavers. Concrete and pavers handle real pressure and come up dramatically. The results here are immediate and out of proportion to the cost.
House washing
Exterior walls, eaves and soffits soft-washed at a pressure the surface will tolerate. On painted or rendered walls, turning the machine up is how you end up with a repaint you did not budget for.
Gutter clearing
Clearing leaves and debris so water goes where it should. Near gums, or anywhere on the escarpment side, twice a year is a sensible baseline.
Clearing is maintenance and we are happy to do it. Anything beyond that — repairs, replacement, new guttering — is roof plumbing and legally needs a licensed plumber in NSW. If we find damage while clearing, you will get photos and a straight recommendation, not a quote we are not entitled to give.
Common questions
- Is pressure washing safe for my surfaces?
- It depends on the surface and the pressure. Concrete and pavers take it well. Painted surfaces, older render and some timber do not, and a machine turned up too high will strip or scar them. Matching pressure to the surface is most of the skill.
- Do you clean gutters?
- We clear them out, which is maintenance. We do not repair, replace or install guttering — that is roof plumbing and requires a plumbing and drainage licence in NSW. If clearing yours reveals damage, we will show you and refer you to a licensed roof plumber.
- How often should gutters be cleared near the coast?
- Twice a year is a reasonable baseline, and more often if there are gums overhanging. Blocked gutters back water up under the roof edge, and that damage is far more expensive than the clearing would have been.
- Will house washing remove mould and salt film?
- Generally yes. Coastal properties build up a film of salt and organic growth on the weather side, and a soft wash lifts it without the pressure that would damage the surface underneath.
